Spent a good chunk of the evening in Vim hacking away at some newbie C progs I was testing.  Gcc is a pretty killer piece of software for free...  One thing I'm remember is how insanely strict C is.  Everything takes several steps to get things done.  Maybe I'm just too used to perl.
