System benchmarking

So the other day I'm benchmarking my system with Quake 3 because I just got a new motherboard and I'm using DDR ram now. So I load up Q3 with my old settings: 1024x768x32. Nothing real special, just trying to guage performance. So I set timedemo 1 and then run a demo I had recorded it runs rather sluggishly and returns 50fps.

Way too slow for what I was expecting, "it must be bad drivers" I thought to myself. Go back to Windows to find a rogue process taking up 99% of the CPU. Kill that process and rerun the benchmark, 160fps. I'm amazed it was able to get even 50fps with a rogue process like that. Pretty sweet!
